Private Community Network

Online social networking is revolutionizing how people connect. Each day, new social networking sites connect like-minded communities of people together. More and more people are accustomed to connecting with others based on shared affinity. Famed author and venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki. hosted a panel of teens who all participated in at least one, if not several of these social networking sites. Already the Internet serves as the foundation for interactive faith experiences for more than one out of every ten adults. Churches who understand how to tap into social networks have a tremendous opportunity to connect with people.

Ekklesia includes a powerful Community Networking system for your community to engage called Cobblestone. Is Cobblestone a Social Networking system? This depends on how you define this term. We are not trying to replace MySpace or Facebook. Those systems put the individual at the center of the universe where everything revolves around the person. We encourage users to continue to use these sites for missional and social engagement. We want your community to create activities and events within Cobblestone and push these outside the private community to invite others. Create a missional basketball group, which in Cobblestone prays for and encourages each other to demonstrate Christ. Outside of Cobblestone it becomes a group of basketball players seeking others to join them. Cobblestone is designed to create missional pathways from the passions and interests of your community that already exist.
